CyberDating Lie Detecting

By Kathryn Lord Did you know that Online Dating is the top moneymaker on the Web? Chances are good that if you are single, you have joined a site or two yourself. If so, you’ve probably asked my CyberRomance clients’ top question too: “How can I tell if they are lying?” Lot’s of ways! Here goes: First off, much of “the problem” of Internet lying is media over hype. What kind of interest would there be in a story about all the honest people who are on the Net? But of course some people do lie, and being concerned about who is and who isn’t lying makes a heck of a lot of sense. Reasons people lie: To avoid conflict. To avoid the consequences of their behavior. To postpone having to make changes in lifestyle. To hide something they did or did not do. To avoid rejection. To be in control of a situation. To avoid being embarrassed. To make themselves appear more successful, good, or talented than they really are. All make terrific reasons for people to lie online. How to detect lying: A truthful person will be “congruent.” That means that all the information they give out — their words, body language, they way they live and dress, everything — fits together and contains no contradictions. People who lie will be incongruent in some way. Here’s what to watch out for: 1. How they use words: written, on the phone, or in person — Talking faster or slower. Changes in voice pitch. Taking charge of conversation, attempts to distract you. Continual denying of accusations. Unusual voice fluctuations, word choice, sentence structure. Stalling the conversation by repetitive use of pauses and comments like “um” or “you know.” Lack of use of contractions. Prefers emphasizing “not” when talking. Being extremely defensive. Saying “Trust me.” 2. How they behave or the attitudes they exhibit: Being hesitant. Nervous laughter. Smugness. Uncommon calmness. Providing more information and specifics than is necessary or was asked for. Inconsistencies in what is being shared. 3. In-person behavior clues: Touching chin, covering the mouth, or rubbing brows. Crossed arms or legs. Pupils narrow. Playing with hair. Body language and facial expressions don’t match what is being said such as saying “no”, but nodding head up and down. Avoidance of eye contact, eyes glancing to the right, staring past you or down, or turning away from you while they are talking. Rigid or fidgeting. Slouching posture. Unnatural or limited arm and hand movements. Partial shrug. Lack of finger pointing. May place a barrier such as a desk or chair in front of self. Sweating, even if it isn’t a warm day. Saying “no” several times. 4. Your own inner cues: You sense something is not right. Explanations do not feel enough for you. You feel confused, you find yourself squinting or angling your head. You feel a block or a wall between you and the other. In Internet dating, or any kind of dating for that matter, keep your anxiety down, your head attached, and LISTEN to everything your date tells you in every way. People tell you about themselves constantly, from the very first second of contact. You have to be willing to hear it. Not only do they tell you by what they do say, they tell you by what they don’t say. Many of these cues can come from simple distraction or nervousness, not deceit. New daters have plenty of reasons to be anxious. Signs of lying differ from one person to another. Don’t let your own nervousness force a jump to wrong conclusions. Give your date a break and take some time. Often, Cyber daters move too quickly to the phone and/or a face to face meeting. Gone is the golden opportunity to safely ask questions and study answers slowly and over time. Vastly increased are tension and anxiety, which complicate clear thinking and judgment. With online dating, you have a tremendous advantage over meeting immediately flesh-to-flesh: You have a written record of what the other tells you. Make use of it! Take your time and get to know your potential Sweetheart the old-fashioned way — through writing! Regain Financial Health By Taking Bad Credit Personal Loan

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=James_Taylor]James Taylor You need finance to pay for personal expenses but your bad credit history is coming in the way of taking a loan. Such borrowers now meet monitory requirement in comparatively hassle free manner through bad credit personal loan. One can take bad credit personal loan at lower interest rate for various purposes like home improvements, paying for education or wedding expenses and even clearing previous debts. Borrowers are tagged as having bad credit when they have faced at least one or two cases of County Court Judgments or arrears, payment defaults and bankruptcy. Loan availing becomes difficult for such borrowers because of the risk involved. So, first efforts should be made towards improving that very credibility. Since the credibility is judged on the credit score the borrower has, attempt should be made to improve it. To do so, see if easy debts can be paid off. This may dramatically improve the credit score. See if your credit score is nearer to the acceptable mark. Generally a credit score of 620 and above is taken by the lenders as healthy and risk free for giving the loan. On FICCO scale credit score ranges from 300 to 850 and credit score of 720 and above is considered good while 580 and below is labeled as bad credit. Better credit score ensures better loan conditions for the borrowers. [http://www.chanceforloans.co.uk/bad_credit_car_loan.html]Bad Credit Personal Loans can easily be availed if the borrower is willing to place collateral with the lender as collateral gives a sense of security to the lender about the loaned amount. The collateral, infect, plays crucial role in loan amount and interest rate for bad credit history people. On offering collateral, borrowers can avail bad credit personal loan in the range of 5,000 to 75,000. If borrowers offer collateral that has higher equity in it, then getting the loan of greater amount becomes easier. Usually interest rate on bad credit personal loan is higher because the lenders need to cover the risk. However, secured bad credit personal loan can be taken at lower interest rate if borrowers compare different loan packages offered by the lenders. As far as the repayment term is concerned, one advantage to bad credit borrowers is that they can pay off the loan in up to 25 years. Larger repayment duration gives them ample time to regain financial health. For borrows like tenants and non-homeowners, their financial standing, steady income source and credit report becomes prominent in finalizing the bad credit personal loan deal as these borrowers are unable to place a collateral. The loan amount and interest rate will depend on repayment capacity of these borrowers. It is always beneficial to apply online for bad credit personal loan. You get numerous loan offer responses from as many lenders. This gives you the luxury of choosing suitable loan package. Bad credit personal loan enables you to regain financial health. You should make all efforts to pay off the loan in time so that your credibility improves. Cosmetic Plastic Surgery

By Jennifer Bailey Cosmetic surgery is also known as aesthetic surgery. It is normally performed to improve an individuals appearance. This type of operation involves surgery on features such as the nose, ears, forehead, eyelids, breasts, abdomen, hips, thighs and face. It remodels, repairs or restores body parts, involving the transfer of tissue. In addition to correcting a deficiency, cosmetic plastic surgery is often sought for its cosmetic appeal. This involves improving the shape of a nose, reshaping protruding ears, removal of abdominal flesh or addition of fat to the buttocks. There has been a phenomenal rise in the number of surgeries, in the recent years. Annually, 12 million cosmetic procedures are carried out in the United States. This is opted for personal enhancement. Despite the cosmetic and aesthetic appeal of this surgery, it is to be kept in mind that it involves surgery and thus the risks of normal surgery are also associated with it. Abdominoplasty is the cosmetic surgery that includes reshaping and firming of the abdomen by removing excess skin and fat that may accumulate after pregnancy, with obesity or age. Blepharoplasty involves the reshaping of the eyelids. Augmentation mammoplasty helps in enlarging the breast size by either using saline or silicone gel implants. Rhinoplasty is the surgery carried out on the nose tissues and at times is also done for a medical cause to alleviate breathing problems. It involves reshaping the nose by reducing or increasing its size and changing the shape of the tip or bridge. Cosmetic surgery is seen as lucrative and involves a considerable inflow of money. It is essential to check a physician’s credentials. The plastic surgeons are required to undergo training that takes a minimum of 5 to 7 years of surgical residency training, after medical school. A little research on the surgeon helps. Plastic Surgery provides detailed information on Plastic Surgery, Awful Plastic Surgery, Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, Plastic Surgery Costs and more. Diet Preparation, Part V: What Will Help You Get to Sleep

By Mark Fuqua In Part V of my series entitled, “Diet Preparation: The Impact of Sleep and Stress,” I am going to give you some tips on what you can do, or avoid, in the hours just before you go to bed. Follow these simple bedtime rules, and you will begin to get a good night’s rest and be energized for your day tomorrow. * Keep a regular schedule. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time everyday, even on the weekends. Keeping a regular schedule will help your body expect sleep at the same time each day. Dont oversleep to make up for a poor nights sleep doing that for even a couple of days can reset your body clock and make it hard for you to get to sleep at night. * Incorporate bedtime rituals. Listening to soft music, sipping a cup of herbal tea, etc., cues your body that it’s time to slow down and begin to prepare for sleep. * Relax for awhle before going to bed. Spending quiet time can make falling asleep easier. This may include meditation, relaxation and/or breathing exercises, or taking a warm bath. Try listening to recorded relaxation or guided imagery programs. * Dont eat a large, heavy meal before bed. This can cause indigestion and interfere with your normal sleep cycle. Drinking too much fluid before bed can cause you to get up to urinate. Try to eat your dinner at least two hours before bedtime. * Bedtime snacks can help. An amino acid called tryptophan, found in milk, turkey, and peanuts, helps the brain produce serotonin, a chemical that helps you relax. Try drinking warm milk or eat a slice of toast with peanut butter or a bowl of cereal before bedtime. Plus, the warmth may temporarily increase your body temperature and the subsequent drop may hasten sleep. * Jot down all of your concerns and worries. Anxiety excites the nervous system, so your brain sends messages to the adrenal glands, making you more alert. Write down your worries and possible solutions before you go to bed, so you don’t need to ruminate in the middle of the night. A journal or “to do” list may be very helpful in letting you put away these concerns until the next day when you are fresh. * Go to sleep when you are sleepy. When you feel tired, go to bed. Avoid “over-the-counter” sleep aids, and make sure that your prescribed medications do not cause insomnia. There is little evidence that supplements and other over-the-counter “sleep aids” are effective. In some cases, there are safety concerns. Antihistamine sleep aids, in particular, have a long duration of action and can cause daytime drowsiness. Always talk to your doctor or healthcare practitioner about your concerns. These easy-to-do tips will help you get the sleep you need so your body can replenish itself and rebuild itself from all that you demand of it. Particularly when it comes to weight loss, getting a good night’s rest is invaluable in achieving your weight loss goals. Do you ever encounter the problem of waking up from sleep and not being able to go back to sleep again? Then be sure to watch for the last article in this Diet Preparation series in which I will give you some ideas on how to get back to sleep. Check this out! For more information on Diet Preparation! New Year’s Fitness Resolutions - Why Do You Set Them? Part 2

By Greg Ryan For the Symbolism of it! Being hip and trendy seems to be the in thing these days. You want to fit in and be apart of something. Pressure surrounds you no matter your age, economic level or geographical location. Being cool use to be what kind of car you drove, what style hand bag you carried around, today, just about anything that is in the know is cool. Until every body is doing it or wearing it then you look for something else to symbolize being different with. Could setting a New Years resolution be considered hip? Sure it could. All your friends are setting them. You could just fly underneath the radar screen, (just incase you fail this time) while everyone else is on the band wagon you can fit right in. Get excited with them. Well maybe a false sense of excitement. What do you really feel like when you do something just because someone else is doing it or if you just want to please them? Not very fore filling to you, is it? The holidays bring with them family, emotions and yes pounds. Once all the excitement is gone, what are left are leftovers; food, excess weight and a sense of let down. You need something to pick you back up after the crash. Kind of like a need for sleep after the Thanksgiving meal. So maybe you set a New Years Resolution. For the Symbolism of it! Remember RULE #1: DO NOT set a New Years Resolutions. But if you do, dont fall into setting one because everyone else is doing it. Do it for yourself. Resolutions are personal quests not for others to see or know about. If you set a resolutions dont set one for the wrong reasons. Make it personal! Can Spruce Oil Really Be The Secret Benefit In A Sauna?

By Emma Sanford Plant Origin: Canada Extraction Method: Steam distilled from leaves, needles, and twigs Spruce Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oil is a wonderful oil to use after you have had a hard day. When you need to be refreshed and feel invigorated, adding Spruce Oil to a bath, diffusing, or using it as part of a massage oil can leave you in a space where you will feel both calmed and refreshed. Therapeutic-Grade Essential Spruce Oil is a wonderful soother for sore muscles, especially when you have worked out too hard. Adding some oil to a bath or to massage oil or lotion can assist in easing the strain of tired muscles and leave you feeling better. Spruce oil has long been used as an additive in saunas for its invigorating and clean, woodsy scent. Most people really enjoy the scent of this Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oil and find it less strong and grating than the other evergreen oils. It has a fresh and woody scent that some say has a hint of fruit to it. It is also said that Spruce Oil is a companion oil for the respiratory system. It is thought to help with bronchitis, coughs and asthma. Spruce oil might also be helpful for colds and flu. It is also a good tonic for general weakness and has been used to improve circulation and ease the symptoms of rheumatism. Some people say that Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oil of Spruce is antimicrobial and antiseptic as well. It can be a great first aid item for cleaning wounds and staving off infection. Another use for Spruce Oil is in meditation and yoga. The oil is thought to help clear the mind and sharpen the focus, and may even be helpful in combating symptoms of depression. Therapeutic-Grade Spruce Essential Oil is said to help calm anxiety and reduce feelings of stress. It is a good choice for a room spritz when you want a room to both smell and feel good, and it blends especially well with other woody essential oils. Just smelling Spruce Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oil reminds some people of Christmas, which can be a calming and relaxing sensation. The oil can be used topically, internally and in aromatic ways. It is best to dilute it when using internally or externally, as skin sensitivity is possible. As with other therapeutic-grade essential oils, you should be careful not to get spruce oil into your eyes. Wash and rinse your hands thoroughly, before and after working with the oil, and avoid using the oil near sparks or open flames. Avoid using Spruce Oil on infants or small children. Keep therapeutic-grade essential oils out of the reach of children. — This entire article is available for reprint electronically or in print, for free, as long as it is done in its entirety, and the bylines are included. Working for Me, Inc.

By Terry Hadaway “Where do you work?” is one of the top three questions to ask someone when you run out of things to say. Most people respond to that question with a description of their employment status–company, job title, job history, stock prices, and a description of the view from their offices (or cubicles). But in today’s freelance world, describing one’s work can be a challenge. Let me explain what I mean. I am an adjunct university professor, lead motivational seminars, conduct faculty training on adult education principles, operate an elearning company, ghost-write books, and write articles. To say I am self-employed is an understatement. When you tell people you are a freelance writer, they respond as if that is some sort of code for “I can’t find real work.” When you say, “I work from home,” they equate you with the scamming spammers who send emails they think you might open. (Newsflash to spammers: I report them as spam without ever opening them!) When you describe yourself as a conference leader or motivational speaker, people lump you into the pile with the bad religious programming that we find on local access cable. To say you are a ghost-writer can’t be proved because, by contract, you’re not allowed to disclose your assignment. (Second newsflash: Many of today’s top authors can’t write! They have great ideas, but putting them on paper is not their area of giftedness!) Instead, I prefer to say I work for Me, Incorporated, a company dedicated to its employees and their success! Because Me, Inc. is a small company, there are few personality clashes, overhead is low, and meetings are almost non-existent. At Me, Inc. there is no time clock, no designated lunch hour, no dress code, and the atmosphere is almost like being at home. Each employee gets free, reserved parking and the commute is never an issue. At Me, Inc. every employee is directly responsible for the success of the company and receives bonuses for completing extra work. That description of my working conditions usually gets a wide-eyed response from people who work for companies where conforming to the corporate image is the most important task. It might be difficult for me to describe what I do, but I sure am having a great time doing it! Think about it! Dr. Terry Hadaway is an author, motivational speaker, university professor, and conference leader who is recognized as a leading authority on elearning, decision-making, and adult education. The Truth about Bulb Flowers

By Robbie Darmona Bulb flowers are known to be the easiest way to grow a plant. Famous flowers such as tulips, daffodils, crocuses, daylilies, daisies, dahlias and snowdrops are all grown out of bulbs. Bulb flowers were extremely popular in Holland in the 17th century. There was a whole financial affair about the tulip flower bulbs, because tulips contained the greatest part of Dutch economy. Most flower bulbs are so plain to grow that many gardeners adore them. Flower bulbs have another advantage over others: they are extremely easy to find. There are several types of popular bulb flowers, take a look at the following list: The True Bulb. It is the most popular bulb flower. Tulips, daffodils and lilies are grown from true bulbs. Basically, it is an underground stem containing embryonic plant. This plant contains in modified look everything that the future plant will need: the stem, the roots, the leaves, the flower buds. When the growing conditions are at their top, this embryonic plant sets forth and starts to grow. The embryonic plant is surrounded by scales, which encompass it. These scales are modified leaves, and look like the husks or scales of fish or mammals. At the bottom of the bulb is placed the basal plate: it is the starting point of the roots and it holds the scales together. True bulbs are extremely endurable: they can live through long periods of dryness. If they are carefully looked after, true bulbs can live long without having to be replaced once they were planted. The Corm. This bulb flower type is popular with gladiolas and crocuses. Unlike the true bulbs, each individual corm can last only one season. But you neednt plant another corm the next season: the old ones give birth to their new generation, so that corms can last several seasons, if they are properly taken care of. Small bulbs, called cormels, are also produced from the maternal corm. They can also turn into flowers. The other difference with true flower bulbs is that corms lack scales. They also contain a stem base, but the tissue of the base is solid. The roots of the flower bulb plant grow from the bottom of the corm, and the growth point is located at the top. The Tuber Tubers are also underground stem bases. But unlike the two above mentioned flower bulb types, tubers lack the basal plate. The roots of a tuber grow from both the base as well as from the sides. Thats why a tuber has multiple growing points and springs out from different places on the surface. The Rhizome. It is actually a thickened stem and it grows partly underneath the ground, until it springs out. The largest growing point of a rhizome is located at one end of the stem, and the additional growing points are located alongside the two sides of the stem. The bearded iris is the most popular flower bulb grown from a rhizome. Tuberous Roots. The tuberous roots are not exactly roots. They are fibrous roots that grow from one basic root. They are designed to absorb nutrients and water and sustain the main root. Tuberous roots usually grow together in clumps. The growth points of tuberous roots can be intertwined and found on various places of the main root, as well as on additional root offshoots. Dahlias and daylilies are the bulb flowers grown in that way. How to Create More Intimacy With Your Valentine

By Rosemary Lichtman, Ph.D. February is perfect for cuddling, with the cold weather and longer nights. No wonder it’s known as the month for romance. But, as a member of the Sandwich Generation, does caring for your growing children and aging parents make you too tired to bring Cupid back into your intimate relationship? Lucy was on the fast track at work and active in her family life, having three teenagers and parents who were declining. Her interest in romance was waning and she was devastated by changes in her body and her psyche. “I have totally lost my libido and I feel as dry as the Sahara desert. In the past, I had been happily led around by my active sex drive - it has been my life force for so long. Now, I have lost my ballast and my identity. I want to have those feelings again.” Difficulties with intimacy may be affecting your partnership and, more likely, difficulties in your marriage may be interfering with your sexual relationship. If there are situations in your life that preoccupy your thoughts and are stressful for you, these can also affect your desires for intimacy. Begin to deal with them directly so that they do not spill over into your sex life. 1. Examine your relationship with your significant other. Are you satisfied with the intimacy? How is your communication? How do you both manage anger? Discuss the issues that are causing problems rather than withdrawing from each other. Don’t use intimacy as a bargaining tool when there is unresolved resentment in your marriage. 2. Schedule a date night alone with your partner. Remember how your heart used to skip a beat when you happily thought about your next evening together? Recreate some of that excitement and mystery now. Take turns planning an activity that will remind you both of why you fell in love. 3. Focus on creating new kinds of intimacy. If your children now live away from home, you have more time and energy to devote to each other and to bring you closer together. Develop or rekindle affection, closeness and romance. Many women find that this can be enormously satisfying in a different way. Fay, an elementary school teacher, has grown to value the companionship in her relationship. “We enjoy rubbing each others back, reading together in front of the fire, sharing funny stories about our grandchildren. Who would have thought that would feel intimate.” 4. Work with your health professional to rule out physical conditions or the side effects of prescriptions that could be contributing to a decrease in your libido. Talk to your internist or gynecologist about remedies - lubricants as well as prescription medications or creams. 5. Explore techniques of expression that may be new to your relationship. Try different positions for your lovemaking. Studies have shown that an active sex life slows the aging process so your effort will be doubly rewarded. With their son away at college, Joy felt emotionally closer to her husband than ever before. “With the house to ourselves we feel less stressed, more carefree, less inhibited and make love more often.” 6. Enjoy your sensuality. Have fun with it. Learn about exercises in “sensate focus” as you discover new ways to explore your body. Energy level, body image, physical limitations and the quality of the relationship all play a part in feelings of sensuality and intimacy. Be patient and take small steps toward feeling emotionally satisfied. Allow yourself the pleasure of slowly learning more and more about your partner, even now. For Lisa and her partner, buying a motorcycle and riding together on weekends was one way of rekindling the excitement in their marriage. “What a thrill I love it all - the speed of the ride, the wind in my hair, the physical closeness, even being the chick on the back of the bike.” Her Mentor Center, 2007 Rosemary Lichtman, Ph.D. & Phyllis Goldberg, Ph.D. are founders of http://www.HermentorCenter.com, a website for the Sandwich Generation, and blog, http://www.NourishingRelationships.Blogspot.com. They are authors of a forthcoming book about Boomer women and their family relationships and publish a free newsletter, Stepping Stones. As psychotherapists, they have a combined 40 years of private practice experience.
